Let me introduce myself...

Hi there! My name is Rina Ward. I'm the "webmama" of FunBabyGames.com

I'm a Filipina married to a "Kiwi bloke" named Mike and we have a little two-year old sweet pea called Faith -- ok, so her photos are in almost every page of this site. I am a shameless proud mom!

Why did I create this site?

Like most first-time mothers I just wanted to raise Faith to be a happy, bright, secure and loving child -- but I just didn't have a clue on what activities to do!

So I did a lot of reading (as eager new moms do). In a nutshell, here's what I believe...

So what does this mean?

Well you really don't have to spend a fortune by joining all those trendy baby classes. Or buy those high-tech toys with all the bells and whistles that claim to make your baby brainier.

This is what FunBabyGames.com is all about. It's all about those simple activities -- spending time cuddling, talking, singing, playing, reading and having creative and positive interactions with your little one.

But wait... I am not JUST a Mom!

Apart from being a mother, I'd like to think that I have other "things going on" in my life (Excuse me for adding this section. This is solely for my self-reassurance that I can still be considered 'cool' even if I wear shirts that are permanently stained with baby spit-up).

I am also...

a guitar rock chic - Aah, I am a frustrated guitarist/singer-songwriter. Nowadays though I'm usually strumming to the tunes of "The Wheels of the Bus", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Hush Little Baby".
a triathlete - I was from the Philippine Triathlon National Team in the 90's (that's how I met my husband, who was also into the sport). While I don't race or train as I used to, I keep myself fit nowadays by running/walking with my little "training buddy."
a scuba diver - that's me proudly showing off the catch of the day.
a fisher(wo)man - Another catch of the day -- a 20lb snapper (oh yes, and did I say my husband thinks I'm a great cook)
and an internet-based Work-At-Home-Mom (Ok, so this photo may not look as glamorous as the other photos you see of well-groomed mom entrepreneurs proudly posing by their handsome executive desks)

Life Is a Beach ... Even On Weekdays!

It's been two years since my husband Mike quit his day job to help build the internet businesses I started (I'll tell the full story another time). And so far, life is a beach! We live in New Zealand (which I think is a wonderful place to bring up kids) and we are gifted with a spectacular coastline with a never ending parade of great beaches.

So it's a shame to enjoy these wonderful places only on weekends or on holidays. Having the freedom to choose when and where to work (and play) is definitely one of the fun treats we get since we became our own bosses!
