Cooked Fingerpaint Recipe
Fingerpaint can be cooked slowly in a pot over a low heat or whisked up quickly using boiling water.
Be aware that soap flakes can cause problems for some people on prolonged contact with the skin, and that children will not enjoy getting soap flakes in their eyes. Keep a pail of clean water and towels handy in case of accidents.
Fingerpaints can be colored with tempera pant powder or dyes.
Ingredients
2 cups cornflour
5 cups cold water
Instructions
Mix the cornflour to a smooth pasted with a little cold water in a large pot, Add 5 cups of cold water and stir over a low heat for about ten minutes until the mixture has thickened to a consistency that will pour slowly and keeps its shape when molded or patterned with fingers.
Color can be added with the fingerpaint is being cooked or mixed in by hand on the painting table.
