Free Baby Sign Language: The First 3 Signs to Teach Your Baby

OK, if you want to start learning baby sign language this very minute --- here's your free baby sign language starter kit! I'll show you the first 3 most important signs that your baby needs to know...

... Eat!

... More!

... Milk!

These are the 3 simplest signs to make. Keep making these signs for at least a month before adding the other signs (you don't want to overload your baby in the beginning)

--- Free Baby Sign Language ---

1) EAT

--->

How to sign: Bring your hand to your mouth (just like if you were shoving some food with your mouth using your hands). Let your hand tap your mouth several times (I usually tap it 3 times)

When to Use the Sign: As you are about to feed your baby, show this sign EAT. Show this sign before you feed them. While you are feeding them (or while they are attempting to eat!) Soon enough, your baby will learn what this EAT sign means. They will soon use it when they want to eat.

2) MORE

--->

How to sign: Bring your hands together like so and tap the fingertips together several times (it's like your fingers are smacking kisses to each other!)

When to Use the Sign: If your baby runs out of food, or simply stops eat or drinking, sue this sign MORE? Make sure you show a very inquisitive facial expression! Allow a slight pause before giving them MORE.

2) MILK

--->

How to sign: Bring your right or left hand to your side and open and close your hand (similar to the action of milking a cow).

When to Use the Sign: Whether you breastfeed or feed from the bottle, show the MILK sign immediately before and after they drink. Once your baby asks for milk by making this MILK sign and are rewarded, They will understand that this motion brings in the milk!
